Arm Your Family with Cold Fighting Foods

Now that the steaming hot weather is nearly 100% behind us we can plan to stress about enjoy the impending holiday season. The one thing we all know is that someone in your house may get sick. As the weather changes, for some reason the flu runs rapid, stuffed noses ooze and you learn to cope with those heart wrenching midnight cough battles. Being sick sucks...especially when your children are sick.

I have a teeny secret that could help arm you and your family while taking on this years "sick" season.

All you have to do is eat. It. is. that. simple. Below is a list of cold fighting foods that gives your immune system a helpful boost.

These fruits are particularly high in Vitamin C, which is the number one cold fighter

`Strawberries

`Cantaloupe

`Blueberries {Also full of helpful anti-oxidants}

`Oranges

`Broccoli

`Sweet Potatoes

`Soy Beans {Edemame Beans}

To make sure you and your family are getting enough Vitamin C eat at least 3 servings of these kinds of foods daily. Here some of my recipes to help you incorporate them into your everyday eating. Also, keep in mind these recipes are good for both your family and baby. SO....stock up on these cold fighting foods and tackle this "sick" season healthy style! {Or at least give it a fighting chance....because some times no matter how healthy we are...some of us end up with the plague.}
