Cinnamon Roll Pancakes
As most of you know, pancakes are a big deal in our home. I used to make them for Ryan and they became one of his favorite foods. We have fun memories making pancakes together and even going out and ordering them. I love making pancakes for my girls now and once again, pancakes reign supreme! If you ever want to browse or many pancake recipes and stories, search pancakes here on my website :)
While pancakes are GREAT they also make for an incredible canvas. Pancakes can take on pretty much anything and level any flavor up. You can add fruit, chocolate chips. You can top them with whipped cream or even crumbled bacon! This time though we are adding cinnamon swirls and now Cinnamon Roll Pancakes are here to stay!
While they may look like an added step that is unnecessary, I’d argue the opposite! Adding the cinnamon swirl is worth a try! Especially if you have any cinnamon roll lovers in your home. Follow the photos and steps below …
Let me know if Cinnamon Roll Pancakes will be worked into your breakfast or brunch rotation soon!
Once you make your pancake batter, you’ll mix together the cinnamon roll mixture. It comes together quick. I like using a piping bag to make swirling it into the pancake batter easily. If you don’t have a piping bag you can use a plastic sandwich or freezer bag.
Once you add your pancake batter to the pan, you’ll swirl a thin line of the cinnamon mixture on to the pancake batter. The key now is to use a toothpick, kabob stick or a butter knife to gently work the cinnamon mixture into the pancake batter a bit. But still keep that swirl. Take a look below. The first one might turn out a bit wonky for you, but you’ll quickly get the hang of it!
Once you see bubbles it is time to flip. Flip and cook for a minute on the cinnamon swirl side and this is what it will look like after it is cooked. One side will look like this, and one side will look like a regular pancake. Any questions?! Ask away in the comments and I’ll be sure to answer and help!

Directions
Step 1: Start by making the pancake batter. You can whisk together the ingredients listed above for our Go To Pancakes until smooth (some small lumps are ok ;) OR make your own pancake batter from scratch or a box! Once you have your pancake batter made, set it aside.
Step 2: In a separate bowl mix together the flour, melted butter and cinnamon to make the cinnamon roll filling. Once they are all combined, add it to a piping bag or plastic sandwich/freezer bag.
Step 3: Time to griddle up your pancakes! On a griddle or fry pan over medium low heat, add a bit of butter. Once the butter is melted, scoop in the pancake batter.
Step 4: Now, snip a corner of the piping bag or plastic bag that your cinnamon roll mixture is in. Now gently swirl in the cinnamon roll mixture on top of your pancake batter. Use a toothpick, kabob stick OR butter knife to sort of stir in the cinnamon roll mixture into the pancake batter. You don’t want to stir it in too much, just a little bit. Take a look at the photos for reference.
Step 5: Once your pancake starts to show tiny bubbles it is time to flip. Gently flip your pancake and cook for about one more minute and then remove it from the pan.
Step 6: Add more butter to the pan and repeat the pancake, cinnamon swirl process until all your pancakes are made.
Step 7: Serve your pancakes warm and top them with whatever you’d like. We like syrup and powdered sugar!
