Celebrating Easter At Downtown Disney
You know, Disneyland isn’t even open yet but the excitement is thick within the air. The girls and I ventured to Downtown Disney and everyone, especially the cast members, are thrilled! Even with most of our faces covered, smiles are shining through our eyes. After being back in Disney California Adventure park for the A Touch Of Disney event last month and not being able to visit Disneyland for more than a year now, it all still feels oddly normal being back. Even with the masks, social distance, new safety protocols, the magic of it all is still there for myself and my kids. I don’t care what anyone says, Disney is magic no matter what. I am so dang excited to experience the parks reopening at the end of the month!
But for now, we hung out at Downtown Disney to do the annual Disney Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt! Plus we had to stop for some sweet treats and walk around the esplanade (the large area in between the two park entrances.) I bought the girls this adorable Mickey Mouse in a bunny costume and we had no idea that when you squeeze his belly the ears pop up! It took us by surprise and the baby loved it the most. We had the most beautiful day walking around enjoying the sights + sounds of Downtown Disney. If you live in Southern California and want a fun place to visit for some Disney fun, definitely check it out!
And in case you missed my Disney Patch Jacket you can check it out HERE. I linked my jacket + every. single. Disney patch that I have in case you interested in making one for yourself!
This was our first year doing the Disney Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt and we had the BEST time! Disney has hidden large character eggs all around Downtown Disney and you get to hunt for them all. You can go and hunt for them on your own for free OR pay $7.99 for the egg hunt guide. If you buy the egg hunt guide, once you find all your eggs you can turn it in and redeem a character egg to take home! We bought a few extra egg hunt guides so we could get a handful of the character eggs ;) I’m going to use them in the girl’s Easter baskets this weekend and for years to come! This fun Easter activity is still going on at Downtown Disney and would be fun to do this weekend if you are in need of something fun to do. Look how cute these Disney eggs are! More Disney Egg Hunt details HERE!
A trip to Downtown Disney is NOT complete with out a visit to Marceline’s Confectionary! This is the sweet shop that offers handmade candies, treats and baked goods that you can also find inside the Disney parks. I’m talking iconic treats! Our favorites are the; cake pops, marshmallow wands and candy apples. But let me shout this for you, GET THE CHURRO TOFFEE! I’m not kidding, if you love toffee and cinnamon + sugar you are going to love this stuff. If you haven’t had it already, definitely try it! Aside from actual churros or the gingerbread cookies from Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe during the holiday season, Churro Toffee is my FAV!
This trip to Downtown Disney we got the vanilla chick cake pop and it was also very yummy. The Cheshire Cat tail marshmallow wand is very decadent. It is three marshmallows dipped in caramel and then dipped in strawberry flavored white chocolate and purple sprinkle drizzle. It sounds insane and is! We eat one marshmallow A DAY because eating one all in one day is too much. But who are we kidding?! My girls and I could totally handle it.
Take a deliciously closer look below and let me know if the comments which one you’d try!
Our weekly Disney content sadly went dormant last year. My heart is BEAMING that we are back and so close to step inside the Disneyland gates! Can’t wait to share more as we get to re-experience Disneyland all over again! Happy tears are flowing as I can feel all three of my kids at this magical place. Overjoyed. Also, look at baby Maya! She ready too!
