A Very Special Galentine's Dinner With SkySpace LA
This month I thought it would be really special to host a Galentine’s Dinner for some of my most cherished friends that are small business owners, mothers and just truly in need of a night dedicated to them. I partnered with OUE Skyspace LA to put together the most memorable night. Every last detail was glittering and gleaming with love. My main goal was to gather these women in hopes of making them feel loved. I wanted to take all their weight and stress away for a few hours and indulge them. It was successful I’m sure of and truly what we all needed fresh from the New Year.
A top downtown Los Angeles, or as locals like to say ‘DTLA’, sits a beautiful bar and iconic glass slide. OUE Skyspace LA is an interactive experience people can enjoy during the day and well into the evening. You can take in the incredible view of downtown Los Angeles from eighty stories high while sipping on a craft cocktail. Plus take a ride on their fully enclosed glass slide! Yes, a glass slide nearly 1,000 ft above Los Angeles for a thrilling new perspective of our amazing city! When OUE Skyspace reached out to me about possibly hosting an event at their space, I couldn’t say “YES!” fast enough.
Putting together our Galentine’s Dinner was a breeze against the backdrop of OUE Skyspace LA’s view. We carefully set the dinner table with gorgeous linens. The floral centerpieces were the stars of our table as they bloomed during our dinner conversations. There was a 3D gem wall and a crystal bar where guests could pick and choose which crystal energies they wanted to bring into their personal lives. The crystal bar was my personal fav. My friend Chelsey of Starling Jewelry and I put it together and I think the guests really had fun choosing their crystals, taking the ones that really spoke to them.
We timed the event start time with the sunset so as guests arrived the city was just starting to sparkle. I created a custom crystal inspired cocktail with a rock candy garnish, which was my absolute favorite! I love a cocktail with a fun garnish. The question though that was most asked by my family after the event was “How was the food?” The food was delicious the dessert bar especially deserves a shout out but there was one bite I went back for, for fourths. The beet French macaron filled with smooth goat cheese ringed with pomegranate seeds was INCREDIBLE! I randomly chose this appetizer to be passed around while guests mingled before dinner and I have to say it was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted! I’ll be talking about that little savory cookie for a while …
The truth is, this event was way more than pretty flowers and picture perfect eats. It was about bringing women together in hopes of inspiring one another. I wanted us to support each other with whatever it may be and let out laughs that get stifled down by work and other stressors. Each one of us sitting around the dinner table either owned a small business, was a mother or was coming off of a loss. Each one of us going through something in our personal or work lives that is blind to the normal eye, yet became visible as we spoke with each other. Our conversations varied from sad, to celebratory to the down right hysterical. At first I thought I was throwing just a fun party for my gals. Turns out I was hosting a much needed night of support laced with this uncanny sense of sisterhood.
Sisters. Not by blood, but by experiences. Each of our experiences are different, sure. Though the feelings and emotions are the same. Those feelings are what bonds us and helps us feel less alone and supported. Opening up and being with each other is when the magic happens. I think you can see in our hugs and smiles the magic that was shining bright that night.
We all ended the night riding the famous OUE Skyspace Slide. 1,000 ft up in the air over what looked to be a million cityscape diamonds. Some women found it easy and enjoyed the thrill. Some needed coaxing which even furthered out bond with each other. A few skipped the slide but stayed cheering on the sidelines. Ending the night with an experience like that will be forever unforgettable!
Our guests took home little Birdling bags filled with items that help induce self-love or self-care. Starling Jewelry gifted each guest one of our Rose Quartz Bracelet sets. Inside the bag there was also a JaxKelly Crystal Candle, The Scarlet Sage Herb Co. Bath Salts and yummy Skin Food Organics USA clay masks. (Keep an eye out, I’ll be giving away a few gift bags on my Instagram soon! ;)
To say it was a beautiful night would be an understatement. It was an incredible night layered with so many beautiful things that made for an unforgettable experience. Thank you to everyone who helped me pull this off. (Ya Priscilla I’m talking to you! :) Thank you to my gorgeous guests for spending time with me during a busy week. Thank you to YOU for letting me share this with you. I feel so overwhelmingly grateful.
