Learn How To Tie Your Shoes - Keeping Busy At Home

Happy Wednesday friends! We have made it through another day. While I think most of us feel a bit loopy staying home all this time, there is a something nice about all the family time we’ve logged. I definitely go back and forth from feeling happy + positive to feeling trapped + scared. Keeping busy with my little ones is what is keeping me grounded. I’ve been making daily lists of things we have to be grateful for, things we can do together (and alone) while staying home, and truly reveling in cooking dinner each night. Our family also has made a new rule, Every Night Is Movie Night! We’ve made it through the last three Star Wars Movies and have Disney’s Onward on the docket for tonight. Also, these last few days Mila is allowed quite a bit of ipad time on her Homer Reading app. (If you have little ones definitely download the Homer Reading app it has endless learning activities! Today we have another fun printable for you all! A Tie Your Shoes template that can help your little ones learn how to, you guessed it, tie their own shoes! Since we aren’t able to go anywhere and shoes are a NO GO inside the house, this template is perfect for kids to practice this life skill. We’ve been spending a few minutes each day on this. So far, it is helping Mila learn how to work her hands and get comfortable with the movements. Just download and print! Then have your little ones help you glue it to a study piece of cardboard. Use something hard (I used a mini screwdriver) to poke holes where the laces will come through. Using (clean) shoelaces, lace the template, then start practicing! You can find the printable below.
