Granola Bars So Good, Our Family Calls Them Candy Bars
Listen up friends! These are our family’s go-to granola bars. I make them a few times a month to keep on hand for a quick breakfast, afternoon snack or even for myself at night to quench that sweet tooth craving. They are packed with healthy goodness and extremely simple to put together! While I know families are all different, these bars can be customized! Can’t do peanut butter? Swap it for almond or even a seed butter. Every ingredient can be swapped and if you have any questions, let me know in the comments and I’d be happy to help!
You can watch me make our granola bars here. I walk you through the recipe step by step and have some fun along way, give it a watch if you’d like. Once you see how simple these are, you’ll be making some for your family ASAP!
The Best Granola Bars
Ingredients
1/2 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup honey
1 cup peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups oats
1 cup sliced almonds
3/4 cup dried cranberries
1 tablespoon chia seeds
9x9 sized pan
parchment paper
Makes About 10 Bars
Directions
Step 1: In pot on medium low heat, melt together the coconut oil, honey, peanut butter and vanilla. Once they all have melted together, remove from the heat.
Step 2: Now, stir in the oats, almonds, dried cranberries and chia seeds. This is where you can get really creative. Try using different kinds of dried fruits, nuts, seeds etc. Take the time to make these your own and perfect for your own family’s tastebuds.
Step 3: Line a 9x9 pan with parchment paper and pour the granola bar mixture into the pan. Use a spatula to smooth out the top. I like to sprinkle sea salt on top to make the flavors pop!
Step 4: Store the bars in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or until they become completely firm. Use a knife to slice into bars. Store the bars in an air tight container in the refrigerator!
Step 5: Enjoy!
