A Day At The LACMA + A Video
One of my favorite things to do with my little ones is take them to museums. I know it might sound a kinda nuts since those kinds of places are all about being quiet and reflective. Though I found that with Ryan, walking him around the halls of certain museums were actually pretty great. There are tons of interactive art installations, bright colors, fun sculptures and if anything he learned how to be quiet at times when viewing art. Kids are pretty smart and I think introducing them to museums early in their life is important. My most favorite museum to take my children to is the LACMA - Los Angeles County Museum of Art. I love this place because it is beautiful and conducive to children. It has large open spaces outside to get the wiggles out and a few large art installations that little ones can play within. It also shares grounds with the La Brea Tar Pits Museum. Where there are actual tar pits outside and excavation sites. If your children are into dinosaurs its the best place. When Ryan was two he adored that place. They have a wall of different prehistoric skulls illuminated from behind and it the coolest thing. That was Ryan's favorite thing to look at. I highly recommend heading to the LACMA or any museum that is near you. It will truly be an adventure!
I am beyond thrilled to be working with Dr. Brown's this month. We've been using Dr. Brown's within out household since Ryan was born. For six years Dr. Brown's has been with me and helped me down my path of motherhood. With Mila now almost a year we are going through a few feeding transitions which I detailed here. I love using Dr. Brown's products and truly believe they are the best for my family. The world of baby gear and feeding products is overwhelming and I always look to other moms for advice or knowings of helpful products. This is why I was so excited to partner with Dr. Brown's and share what I know. Share what I think is helpful. Honestly, as a mother I know how helpful any ounce of help is. If I can do that for someone, if I share and it helps someone find something that works and makes their life easier ... Then that is pretty awesome.
We love packing up for the entire day and head out for adventures. We usually pack for the entire day when we venture to Disneyland or museums. Mila (& Ryan too) are really great at being out and about. I have found that what makes it easy on them is bringing along the things they know from home. And a plethora of snacks. Snacks really is key. And if you are into bribery...little lollipops were gold with Ryan. ;) One of my favorite Dr. Brown's products right now is the 'Snack-A-Pillar' snack cups because I can fill them with food and snacks for the whole day. Since the stack on top of each other it doesn't take up much space. It is my go-to travel product. Of course I have to tote along bottles. I love the Options Glass Bottles because you can use it with or with out the vent system within the bottle. Since Mila is older we can skip the vent system which makes for even easier bottle feeding. Right now Mila adores her bottle and I adore feeding it to her. She is getting older but still has a bit of baby left in her and I'm soaking it all in.
Recently we took a trip the the LACMA and created a video of our day. It was such a beautiful day and this video will forever be a treasure.
As always, thank you for coming along on our journey. I hope are inspired to take a museum adventure with your little ones soon!
